Subaru has also created an exclusive new exterior color for the Crosstrek Hybrid: Plasma Green Pearl, which helps to spotlight the vehicle's environmental character. New 2014 Subaru XV Crosstrek Hybrid Performance Features
The 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid features a 4-cylinder BOXER engine for its hybrid system. The system uses a Lineartronic® continuously variable transmission with integrated electric motor. It also includes an integrated starter/generator for auto start/stop function and brake regeneration. Installed under the rear cargo area is a 13.5kW, 100V nickel-metal-hydride hybrid battery. You'll get 13.4 horsepower and 48 lb.-ft. of torque with the electric motor and 148 horsepower and 145 lb.-ft. of torque from the gas engine. Sending power to all four wheels at all times the Active Torque Split version of Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive adjusts the torque distribution in response to acceleration, cornering, and road conditions. And for the 2014 XV Crosstrek Hybrid Subaru re-engineered the chassis to handle the added weight of the battery system, offering you improved handling, steering, and ride.
